I have experience working with a wide variety of issues: relationship problems, physical, sexual and emotional abuse, problems with family of origin, depression, anxiety, dissociative disorders, eating disorders, addiction, sexual identity, transitions, parenting and spiritual concerns.
The therapeutic orientation of this practice integrates ideas from many sources, including psychodynamic, cognitive/behavioral, humanist and transpersonal approaches, but is grounded in the Adaptive Information Processing Model of the brain and EMDR (Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing) Therapy. There is strong emphasis on clearing trauma and understanding how past traumas, big or small, may be affecting current relationships.
This therapeutic process unfolds predominantly through dialogue, EMDR, and/or Equine Assisted Psychotherapy. There is a deep spiritual (but not religious) component to this work, while the focus is on increasing self awareness through examining practical, everyday conflict.
I provide individual sessions, couples sessions and groups.
